Variety Descriptions:
Bradley: "Medium-sized pink slicer with good disease resistance (Fusarium, Alternaria, and Grey Leaf Spot) and great old-fashioned tomato flavor, uniform and productive until frost. Bred by Dr. Joe McFerran of the University of Arkansas in 1961. Bradley tomatoes were once quite sought after in the mid-South. They were the mainstay tomato of Megan’s grandfather at his grocery store in Nashville throughout the 60’s and 70’s. A favorite of Megan and Lalo at Care of the Earth Community Farm for fresh eating, freezing, and canning." -Commonwealth Seeds https://commonwealthseeds.com/product/bradley-tomato-certified-organic/
Hillbilly: "An absolutely beautiful yellow, orange, and red streaked heirloom from West Virginia. Disease-resistant and very productive. The best producing “German-type” tomato for Care of the Earth Community Farm. Tomatoes average close to 1lb, although they can be larger. Low-acid but flavorful and good for slicing. These can have trouble with fruit set in very hot weather." -Commonwealth Seeds https://commonwealthseeds.com/product/hillbilly-regular-leaf-tomato-certified-organic/
Mannon's Majesty: "Round red tomatoes with very good flavor, split resistance and disease resistance. Bred by Mannon Gallegly at West Virginia State University and released in 2023, Mannon’s Majesty offers even better Septoria Leaf Spot resistance than the other WVU releases, leading to remarkably long-lasting vines. The Septoria resistance comes from the wild tomato Solanum habrochaides. Also resistant to Late Blight, Verticillium Wilt and Fusarium Wilt. The indeterminate plants produce over a long window." -Commonwealth Seeds https://commonwealthseeds.com/product/mannons-majesty-tomato-certified-organic/
San Marzano: "San Marzano is the the go-to paste tomato at Living Energy Farm, used for salsa, sauce and drying. They have been growing and selecting this seedstock for several years. The plants are healthy and productive, with indeterminate bearing. The flavorful, low-moisture fruits are about 1.5×4 inches and keep well, both in the field and after harvest." -Commonwealth Seeds https://commonwealthseeds.com/product/san-marzano-paste-tomato-certified-organic/
